Our Story

Dogs Have Always Been Part of My Life

I’ve had dogs my entire life.

I’ve had them while living with my parents, in college, as a young professional, and now as a parent. Different houses. Different stages of life. Different dogs.

And somehow, through all of it, I’ve always thought the same thing:

Dogs are completely nuts. And I love them for it.

I’ve experienced the sweet moments, the stressful moments, the “what have I gotten myself into?” moments, and the moments that are so ridiculous you can only laugh.

Like the time one of my dogs pooped on top of an electrical box on the side of the road.

This particular dog had a very specific routine: back up to a bush, poop on top of it, and move on with life.

Except this time, there was no bush.

So apparently, the electrical box was the next best option.

That’s life with a dog.

And that’s what I want Hoot Scoops to be about.

Whether you’re bringing home your first puppy, adding another dog to the family, or you’ve had dogs for decades, they have a funny way of completely turning your world upside down.

I want Hoot Scoops to be the place where you can come for practical advice, useful recommendations, and a little reassurance from someone who understands that dog ownership can be wonderful, overwhelming, hilarious, gross, and completely life-changing—all at the same time.

Because whatever stage of life you’re in, you’re not the only one wondering, “What the hell is my dog doing?”
